About the Role

performs a variety of administrative tasks to support the staff of a construction firm, including:
Communication: Answering phones, taking messages, and relaying information
Correspondence: Composing and handling correspondence
Organization: Filing, copying, and sorting mail
Supplies: Ordering supplies
Meetings: Arranging meetings, producing agendas, and taking minutes
Travel: Organizing travel arrangements

Requirements

Education

A high school diploma or equivalent, such as a GED, is the minimum educational requirement.

  • Experience : secretaries should have at least two years of clerical experience. Others say construction administrative assistants should have three years of administrative experience and familiarity with the construction industry.

  • Skills

    Secretaries should have strong organizational skills, patience, and a can-do attitude. They should also have basic computer skills, knowledge of specific software programs used within the organization, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
